Biography

Youngest child of Robert & Rebecca Gilby he was born in 1867 and baptised on the 16 June 1867 in the Cherry Hinton Parish Church. In the 1871 he is living at High Street, Cherry Hinton. In the 1881 Census his parents and he are living in Fulbourn, Camb. Jesse Gilby and Annie Hobbs were married on 25 Dec 1886 in Penge, Surrey. Jesse Gilby and Annie Hobbs gave birth to a son. Henry Gilby was born 1888. He is still living in Fulbourn in 1891 In 1891 a daughter. Avis Gilby was born 1891; a daughter. Mabel Gilby was born 1893; a daughter. Emma Gilby was born 1894. (later becomes Emily); a daughter. Beatrice Gilby was born 1896.; a son. Jesse Robert Gilby was born 1901. a son. Ernest Gilby was born 1903. In 1901 Census, 149, Sidmouth Road, Low Leyton, West Ham, Essex In 1907 Jesse with his wife and children emigrate to Canada, arriving in Montreal.
