Her parents were William Gilby and Sarah Hobbs.
Marriage
In 1879, Fanny married George Wells, an agricultural labourer, in Newmarket, England.[3]
In 1881, Fanny (22) and George (23) were living in Soham, Cambridgeshire, with their new baby George (1). They were living next door to Fanny's family on one side (John and Sarah) and George's family (John and Mary) on the other.

In 1891, the family had grown and there were now five children: George (11), Lizzie (9), Walter (5), Julia (2), and Auther (0). They were still living next door to Fanny's parents.

In 1901, Fanny and George were at a new address, living with seven of their children.

Fanny Wells died in 1948 in Newmarket at the age of 89.
