R. Kent Gilchrist, age 66, of Bloomington, Indiana died Wednesday in Bloomington.

Born June 12, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of Bruce and Elma (Vance) Gilchrist. He was an agent for Wankier Insurance of Bloomington and was a musician. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the University of Utah.

Survivors include his wife, Suzette (Wankier) Gilchrist, of Bloomington; three daughters: Lisa Rodriguez of Indianapolis, and Juliet and Kirsten Gilchrist, both of Bloomington; three brothers, Don Gilchrist of Sandy, Utah; Roger Gilchrist of Sacramento, California, and Stephen of Salt Lake City; one half-brother, Robert Bruce Gilchrist of Salt Lake City and three grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. (EST) Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2411 E. Second St., Bloomington. Friends may call at Day Funeral Home in Bloomington on Friday from 6-9 p.m. and at the church from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Was a music teacher at St. Mary's College of Maryland during the 1970s.
