The family was residing in Storrington, Canada West, in 1851 and Euphemia's husband James was a farmer. Their family included five children, Euphemia, Jane, Neal, Archibald and Robert.[7] By 1861, the family had moved to Kingston, Canada West, and Euphemia's husband was working as a Tailor. Four of her sons, Archibald, Robert, Duncan, and William, were still residing with them but their older daughters, Euphemia and Jane, and her son Neil had moved out.[10]

On the 1871 Canada Census the family was listed as residing in the Cataraqui Ward of Kingston and consisted of James, who was still working as a Tailor, Euphemia, and five of their children, Archibald, Duncan, William, Peter, and Mary.[13][15]Euphemia was widowed by 1881 and still residing in the Catarqui Ward of Kingston along with four of her children, Duncan, WIlliam, Peter John, and Mary.

Euphemia was still residing in Canada on 15 Jul 1884 when she filed for a United States military pension from the death of her son Neil, who was a member of the 81st New York Infantry and was killed in action on 29 Jun 1864 near Petersburg, Virginia.[8]

In 1891, Euphemia was lodging with the family of Samuel Bates, who was a carpenter in Kingston City and the household included Samuel's wife and three children.[16]

Her actual date of death is unknown but was sometime after Apr 1891.[16]
