Henry was born in 1837. He was the son of Scottish immigrant Andrew Gilchrist and Sarah Dales. [1]
He married Elizabeth Jones in 1858 in Rockford, Illinois. [2]They had no children.
Elizabeth's brother Charles was in this unit and also died of illness in April that year.
