Y., Oct. 4, 1830; came to Portage Co., Wis., in 1852; came to Ogle Co. in 1859; he owns 140 acres valued at $40 per acre; married Harriet Biggers Feb. 14, 1860; she was born in Steuben Co., N. Y., March 8, 1838; have two children: Maggie M., born April 23, 1864, and George S., Nov.11, 1869; he is a Democrat.

According to the 1880 US Census for Flagg, Ogle, Illinois, fifty-year-old D. Gillchrist/Gilchrist was born about 1830 in New York. Mr. Gillchrist was described as a married white male farmer of the Flagg area. D. Gillchrist/Gilchrist was married to forty-three-year-old Harriet. They had two children, Maggie, 16, and George L., 10. Also listed in their household was T. W. Barlow, a twenty-two-year-old day laborer from Wisconsin.
