I am sceptical about the twin story. Yes, there was a Jurie Johannis baptised in Swellendam on 12 Sep 1802 (which might be this guy, but he did not die young), but there is no indication at that baptism that there was a twin. The baptism record of this profile, Johannes Jochemus clearly states that he was born 17 Jan 1804.

Bingo, Riël, about the twin theory! The 1802 baptism you found of a Jurie/Jurgen Johannes to me clarifies the picture about Johannes Jochemus having had a deceased-young older brother and why a subsequent brother was given the same names. Thanks!
