Biography

Birth date is given in son Daniel Mulford's Bible record. Date of death is also given there, but is NOT fully legible, being possibly June 11, 1803 (written as June 1_18_3 in the record itself) though misread as June 1783.

Though Benjamin (may have) had a second wife named Mary, Anna Gildersleeve was the mother of ALL of his children, evidenced by the daughter named Anna among Benjamin's younger children. This is documented by the descendants of daughter Hannah Mulford Edwards in their Birk-Lombard family Bible, naming Anna as the mother of Daniel Mulford, Hannah Mulford, Jacob B. Mulford [Jacob Benjamin Mulford], Joseph Mulford, Phebe Mulford, Mary Mulford, Jane Mulford, Anna Mulford, and Jeremiah Mulford, in that order. This is further documented in the 1972 research of respected New Miami, Ohio genealogist Hazel Stroup who identified Benjamin's wife as Anna Gildersleeve and their children as Daniel, Hannah Edwards, Jacob, Joseph, Phebe Downey, Mary Anderson, Jane Shrack, Anna Dart, Jeremiah, and Pat Wolfe [Patience Dolph (DeWolfe)], in that order.[1]
