!Typed transcript of family bible in file of Joan E. Hoxie, who has possessionof it. "My husband recalled that we have a family Bible (published in 1869) inour possession, and there are three parchment pages bound between the Old andNew Testaments for recording births, deaths and memorandum. I would surmisethat it is a Bible for the Frank H. Gile family, since it has been passed downthrough my grandfather, and I enclose a typed copy of the information as itappears on those pages (note numerous discrepancies in dates from those used inBurleigh's book) Under Births, the handwriting is the same from the firstentry through James H. Gile. Quite possible these entries were made all at onetime and, unfortunately are in red ink which, I feel, probably will notreproduce well on a copier. Beginning with the entry for Marion Clyde Gile, the handwriting is by a different person and in black ink for the remainingentries on all of the pages, except as I have indicated. I have good, thoughundated, black-and-white photographs of Frank H. Gile and Mary Ella (Collins)Gile which might copy pretty well if your are interested in these for yourpublication." (Birth dates for Frank H. Gile, his wife Mary E. Collins, her parents, and all of the children of Frank and Mary were shown; also a page of deaths.)
