Biography

Sarah was a Friend (Quaker)

Conflicting Information

Sarah Giles was the daughter of John Giles, but there are conflicting records about who her mother was. Databases Maryland Church Records and Maryland Births and Christenings list Sarah's mother only as Rachel; there is no last name at birth.[1][2]The above mentioned databases give Sarah's date of birth as 6 March 1722, whereas Colonial Families of America cites her date of birth as 26 December 1723. It is possible that these are two different people named Sarah Giles, daughter of two different men named John Giles.

Marriage

Sarah Giles married Samuel Hopkins on 2 July 1740 at the Society of Friends in Maryland.[3]

Giles-883 and Giles-330 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, same spouse. Duplicate mother profiles need to be merged first.
