Mary Ann Giles was born in about 1833, in Reading, Berkshire, the daughter of Robert Giles and Mary Rand. She was baptised on 5 May 1833 in St Mary's Church, Reading. This was on the same day as Lydia Sarah and it's possible that they were twins. [1]

Mary Ann has not been found in any other record, so it is assumed that she probably died soon after birth, and certainly before 1841.
