Biography

Lucy Gileswas born about 1781 in Coseley, Staffordshire, England and baptised on 21st April 1782 in in Sedgley, Staffordshire. She was the daughter of Thomas Giles and Esther. ^[1][2]

Lucy Giles was married to Samuel Penn on 13th February 1804 in Sedgley, Staffordshire, England. ^[3]

Samuel and Lucy had the following children:

Sarah Penn, baptised 02 Jun 1805 ^[4] Thomas Penn, baptised 29 Mar 1807 ^[5] Martha Penn, baptised 12 Feb 1809 ^[6] Joshua Penn, baptised 08 Sep 1811 ^[7] Elizabeth Penn, born about 1820 in Staffordshire, died in 1918 age 98, in British Columbia, Canada. ^[8][9] Andrew Penn, baptised 20 Apr 1825 ^[10][11]

In 1841, Samuel Penn (a blacksmith) and Lucy Penn were living in Hall Green, Sedgley, Dudley, Staffordshire. Son, Andrew Penn (15) and lodgers, John Gillard (25) and Luke Sidwell (25), their future son-in-law, were at the same address. ^[12][13][14]

In 1851, Samuel and Lucy Penn (both 70, both born Cosley, Staffordshire) were living in Kirton, Lindsey, Lincolnshire. ^[15]

Lucy possibly died in 1860 in Dudley, Staffordshire. ^[16][17]
