Her father was Alfred Giles of Kent Town in South Australia (late of Pine Creek in the Northern Territory) and she was his only daughter.
She had two brothers one of whom was Leslie Henry Alfred Giles. In December 1921 he was appointed ACTING GOVERNMENT SECRETARY, ACTING PUBLIC TRUSTEE, ACTING SHERIFF, ACTING INSPECTOR TAXATION, ACTING COMMISSIONER STAMPS, ACTING REGISTRAR PENSION for the Northern Territory. In 1927 he was appointed Crown Prosecutor for the Northern Territory.
The other brother was H.S. Giles also of Darwin.
She was born at Springvale near Katherine.
On 1/6/1912 in Pine Creek she married her first husband William Herbert Perry b 13/4/1879 d 16/3/1916 Pine Creek. He was the third son of the late Thomas Perry from Angaston in South Australia.
In June 1923 she travelled to Adelaide with her two children for a holiday. They travelled by buggy for six days to get to Wyndham, then 12 days by steamer to Fremantle and finally on the East- West railway to Adelaide.
She died age 32 on Waterloo Station following an operation brought about by the premature birth of her fourth child.
She is buried in the Cemetery on Waterloo Station.
