Biography

Peter Lindsay Gilkison was born in Campbeltown Argyll Scotland about 1846. He was the son of John Gilkison and his wife Mary Lindsay.[1]

Jean Fleming married Peter Lindsay Gilkison on the 11th of July 1873.

Gilkison — Fleming. — At the residence of the bride's father, Rakahook, on the 4th July, by the Rev. Thomas Alexander, of Long Bush, Peter Lindsay Gilkison, of Waianiwa, to Jane, eldest daughter of Mr Thomas Fleming, farmer.[2]

He passed away in New Zealand in December 1924. He was 78. [3]

MR PETER GILKISON. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMM.) INVERCARGILL, January 1

The death is announced of Mr Peter Lindsay Gilkison, who -was well-known in agricultural and business interests throughout both islands. Mr Gilkison, who was a partner in the flourmilling firm of Fleming and Gilkison, was an ex-president of the Southland A, and P. Association.[4]
