Erasmus Gill was born about 1725.^[1] It is unlikely he lived more than 100 years, so he died before 1825.

Marriage

Erasmus Gill married Cassandra (Chunn) Briscoe, the widow of Philip Briscoe, before May 1752.^[2]

  • No solid support or proof that Samuel's father was named Erasmus; however, with new evidence that Erasmus was married to Cassandra Chunn by May 1752, and Samuel born August 1752 with daughter named Cassandra, circumstantial evidence indicates that Samuel's parents were Erasmus and Cassandra (Briscoe nee Chunn) Gill.
