The Courier-Mail (Brisbane, Qld. : 1933 - 1954), Mon 31 Oct 1938, Page 1 TWO DEAD, 18 INJURED PICNIC TRUCK OVERTURNS Three Victims In Critical State ASPLEY TRAGEDY A man and his daughter - an only child - were crushed to death and 18 people were injured, four seriously, when an open picnic truck overturned on the Gympie Road yesterday on the way to the Ambulance picnic at Redcliffe. Four Badly Injured The victims of the Aspley smash who remain in hospital are :— SERIOUSLY INJURED Mr. Alexander Leslie Gill, 18, single, of 21 Copeland Street, Milton; abrasions to face, arms, and hands, concussion, injury to back, and shock. Condition serious. Taken off danger list. INJURED WILLIAM CHARLES AULD, 25, single, of Cribb Street, Milton; bruises and abrasions to right knee.
