Sport has always captured Ross's interests and tempered his energies and he has played most sports, representing his school and/or university in hockey, rugby, cricket, tennis, football etc. His love of sport has allowed him to meet many interesting people and has taken him to many interesting places. In 2002 Ross followed Ireland to Japan for the World Cup - a trip that he is still paying off...
Shortly after the World Cup, Ross met Judith Boreland at a hockey game they were both playing in. In 2006, Judith Boreland became Judith Gillanders (after a service in Judith's local Hillsborough Parish Church. In August 2008, Judith gave birth to George Gillanders who has all of his father's wriggliness, but thankfully his mother's good looks.
After gaining an MA from Trinity College in Psychology with English and a couple of work-related diplomas, Ross joined Dunnes Stores - Ireland's largest retailer and worked in the PR department for a couple of years. In 2005 Ross moved to the US to help develop the same software company and he now resides in Burlington, Vermont.
