I do agree with David Quinn. I have spent a lot of time searching Edward & his possible spouses. Hopefully I have resolved the dilemma.

I removed James & Jane Ross as parents of this Edward and replaced his father with John in keeping with Edward's marriage record to Sarah Boyd. James & Jane Ross still remain the parents of "their Edward" in keeping with marriage to Rachel Holland (My 2x G Aunt). Edward & Rachel emigrated to New Zealand. Those NZ refs tally. Apologies, but there will be one more merge.

I have done some research on this. If you look at irishgenealogy.ie there are two Edward Gillanders's marriages in 1863. The correct one is the other one - father = James and address Ballinagall. He married Rachel Holland not Sarah Jane Boyd. I then searched irishgenealogy.ie for children and the deaths of Edward and Rachel and couldn't find them. So I assumed they had emigrated and was able to find an Edward and Rachel Gillanders farming in Springfield Canterbury NZ. There seems to be a son Edward as well. If these are the right people they are buried in Addington Cemetery Christchurch NZ He died 8 May 1885 and she died 27 Jan 1913.
