Biography

James Alfred Gillespie was born April 17, 1869 in Guadalupe, Texas to father A F Gillespie and mother Rebecca Alexander.[1]

Alfred Gillispie was enumerated at Seguin Post Office, Precinct No 1, Guadalupe County, Texas for the July, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as born 1868-1869 in Texas as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male H T Gillispie and female Alice Gillispie.[2]

Alfred Gillispie was enumerated as son of the head of household in Justice Precinct 3, Wilson County, Texas for the June 8, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a farm laborer, born April 1869 in Texas and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head A F Gillispie, wife Rebecca Gillispie, daughter Clora Gillispie, daughter Ida Gillispie, son John L Gillispie, daughter Maggie Gillispie, daughter Gussie Gillispie and son Carroll Gillispie.[3]

James Gillespie was enumerated as son of the head of household at 1007 West Avenue, Austin, Travis County, Texas for the April 10, United States Census, 1930. He was noted as born 1869 in Texas and single. He was a hotelman (hotel) as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Rebecca Gillespie, daughter Clara F Gillespie, daughter Maggie Gillespie and daughter Ida Gillespie.[4]

James Alfred Gillespie died August 20, 1933 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. He was single.[1]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[5] James Alfred Gillespie is buried at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery in Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA, Plot: Sect 1, Row 445, Plot 7-8.[6]
