Biography
Elizabeth [Lizzie] Gillespie was born at East Taieri near Mosgiel in Otago, New Zealand on 19th February 1889, the tenth child and fourth daughter of Hugh Gillespie and Betsy Meek, and the last child born to the couple.
On 24th April 1923 Lizzie married James Tweed. [1] The couple later had a son, Tommy Tweed.
Lizzie died on 28th June 1963 at Auckland City in Auckland province, New Zealand; she was aged 74. Four days after her death she was cremated at Waikumete Crematorium and her ashes returned to the funeral director at the end of that month. [2]
