This Kincaid family which Jean married into is part of the Kincaid DNA Lineage project and it's ancestral lineage has been extensively researched with primary sources listed here.[1]
Much additional information with primary sources comes from research notes on Scottish Kincaids collected by Peter Kincaid of Fredericton, NB, Canada.[2]
Jean was baptized 30 Aug 1757 at Saint John Street Associate Session, Stirling, Stirlingshire[3] as daughter of James Gillespie and Elizabeth Sawers (Sawyer?). This may have been the non-conformist church established by Rev. Ebenezer Erskine which did not actually take the name of the "John Street Church" until 1869.[4]
She married James Kincaid 13 or 14 Nov 1779 (sources conflict) at St. Ninians in Stirling[5]
They had the following children baptized in Larbert, Stirlingshire:[1]
John Kincaid 1780–1851
James Kincaid 1782–1851 (emigrated to Missouri; was heir to his Aunt Elizabeth as of 16 Feb 1835, died in Texas when his sister Elizabeth wrote her will, see Peter Kincaid reference notes page 545)
Robert Kincaid 1784–
Peter Kincaid (Dr.) 1785–1861 (emigrated to Missouri)
Charles Kincaid 1787–1851 (emigrated to Lagrange, Texas; died by the time his sister Elizabeth named their brother Dr. Peter Kincaid as executor)
Elizabeth Kincaid 1789–
She appeared (if this is the same person) in the 1841 Scotland Census as Jean Gillespie in Bannockburn, St. Ninians, Stirlingshire.[6]
A record of her death or burial has not yet been found.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jean by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jean:
