Biography

Anna Harriet Grove (went by Harriet) was born about 1869 in Catcott Burtle, Somerset, England to Gabriel Grove and Eliza (Norris) Grove.

Harriett was recorded twice on the 1881 census, once at home and once with her employer:

• Harriett Grove (age 13, Housemaid) lived in Catcott with her father Gabriel (51, General Lab), mother Eliza (43), and seven siblings: Gabriel (18, Lab), Eliza A (10, Scholar), Maria (8, Scholar), Edmund (6, Scholar), Alice L (4, Scholar), Matilda (2), and Baby (0).^[1]
• Harriet Grove (age 14, Indoor Servant) lived at Church Road in Edington, Somerset with her employer William J Norris.^[2]

In 1891 Harriet Grove (age 22, Parlour Maid Domestic Servant) lived in Christchurch, Hampshire in the household of her employer Marion Geoghegan.^[3]

Anna Harriet Grove married Robert George E Gillett in 1894. The marriage was registered in Bridgwater, Somerset in the second quarter of the year.^[4]
