Biography

Private Nathan Gillett served with 18th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Nathan was born in 1744. He was the son of Othniel Gillett.

Nathan Gillett served in the Revolutionary War. Regiment: 18th Regiment of Militia (Commanded by Jonathan Pettibone). Captain Samuel Hays (Hayes) Company, from August 22 to September 25, 1776, serving in New York.

He married Dorcas Holcomb (1745–1825). They had the following children:

Zeruah Gillett b. 11 Aug 1767, d. 12 Feb 1843

Levi Gillett b. c 1770, d. 14 Mar 1856

Nathan Gillett b. c 1772

Dorcas Gillett b. c 1775, d. 19 Mar 1839

Eli Gillett b. c 1777, d. 9 Feb 1827

Heman Gillett b. c 1780

Truman Gillett b. 29 Jul 1783

Rodolphus Gillett b. c 1785, d. Sep 1849

He passed away in 1825. Buried at Granby Cemetery, Granby, Hartford County, Connecticut.
