Jennie was born in 1854 in Circleville, Williamson Co.,Texas. She was the daughter of Columbus Gillett and Ann Bilbo. Her father was a mill owner[1] Right at the end of the Civil War, or slightly later in 1865-66, Columbus and his family moved to Los Nietos, California. It was the site of one of the biggest ranchos in Southern California comprising most of Orange County now.[2]She never married. She earned a living as a housekeeper. Jennie died of pneumonia in 1902.[3]
