Elizabeth is the daughter of James Cheatham and Susannah Barker.

Susannah Barker is the daughter of John Barker and Elizabeth Gilliam. Susannah is the sister of Burwell Barker. James Cheatham leaves a Will dated 23 Feb 1797 in Warren County, NC dividing his estate between his for children: Wyatt Cheatham, James Cheatham, Kinchen Cheatham and Elizabeth Gilliam. His Will is witnessed by William Huff and Burwell Barker. [It should be noted that William's Will mentioned a granddaughter Elizabeth Huff Thorn.]

Confusion regarding William's wife, Elizabeth, arose from confusion over William's daughter Lundy who married William Howard Sims, the son of William Sims and Elizabeth Howard. This is when the Howard name entered this Gilliam family.

Gilliam-944 and Gilliam-753 appear to represent the same person because: Represent same individual

Gilliam-944 and Gilliam-753 appear similar, but we need to resolve the correct parents before we merge. And other records are off.

These are clear duplicates - each with duplicate husband and son Guilford (also duplicates). Child of William Gilliam Jr and his wife Elizabeth. The problem appears to be the surname of the mother, Elizabeth. Please allow the merges and attach as a child of William Gilliam Jr. I suggest a notation be added to the profile that stipulates that the mother's surname is yet to be proven.

Okay agreed, we will note the discrepancy mothers on her profile. I think we need to resolve which death date, the only source on one is just a family tree. I have not found her in the 1860 census records, shall we use after 1850 as the death date then ? I just added her husband's will record, to Gilliam-944.

After 1850 is fine. Thank you.

The correct mother is a big discrepancy. I am convinced that Elizabeth Howard is not the correct mother that it is Elizabeth Cheatham (per many of my DNA matches too). And the online trees are the only sources on Gilliam-753. Whereas Gilliam-944 has the marriage record that shows her maiden name.

I'm convinced that Gilliam-944 and Gilliam-753 are the same person. Many similarities. But there too many discrepancies. Needs some research to resolve the differences.

Well, we will have to delve into that deeper....

I have now added new additional records maybe that will help to solve things
