Sydney William Ernest Gilliat entered Chanvellors School, Lincoln England in 1896, was a priest 1899, various livings, the register of electors list him at Trecefn, Hereford Road, Monmouth in 1939. They had four children, Ralph, Winifred, Leofric (died 1923 in Australia) and Marjorie. Widow Jane Parnel Gilliat (nee Bagnall-Oakley) died in 1951.
