Biography

Sources

- Scotland, Berwick, Cranshaw OPR registers 1753-1854, LDS reel #103220. Entry dated 15 Sept. 1824 in Kirk Sessions: "Paid postage of a letter from Dunse or Dundee (?) concerning Alison Gillie."
Over the next two years there is regular correspondence between the two parishes as Cranshaw pays Dunse for the up-keep of Alison Gillie (a regular weekly/ monthly salary/alotment) until 22 October 1826 when she is said to have married.
............
NOTE: I have assigned Alison to Alexander & Martha's family as it appears to be the only Gillie family in Cranshaw at this time.
