Biography

Lorna was born Lorna Helen Gillies on the 2nd of December, 1917, in Tapanui, Clutha District, Otago, New Zealand, the daughter of John Archibald Gillies and Elizabeth Jane Rainham.[1][citation needed]

At 25, in 1942, she married Harold James Grant at Gladfield, West Taieri, Otago, New Zealand and they had 6 children.[2][citation needed]

At 29, in 1946, she was living for a number of years with Jim at 50 Factory Road, Mosgiel.[3]

At 37, in 1954, she had moved, with Jim, to "Gladfield", North Taieri, Otago.[4][5]

From 52, in 1969, to her death, she lived at Riccarton Road, Mosgiel, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand[6].[7][8][9]

At 61, on the 10th of June, 1978, she lost Jim with his death at 63 at their home in Riccarton Road, Taieri Plain, Greater Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand and was buried in the West Taieri Cemetery, Otago, New Zealand, Plot 47, Block 46.[10]

At 84, on the 24th of August, 2002, she died at Mossbrae Hospital, Mosgiel, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand and was buried in the West Taieri Cemetery, Plot 47, Block 46., Greater Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.[1]

Lorna was born about 1918. She is the daughter of John Gillies and Elizabeth Rainham.
