Biography

Leo James Gillispie, son of Charles Gillispie and Katherine Whittaker, was born on 15 December 1900 in Concord, Jackson County, Michigan. ^[1]

Leo owned a farm in Concord, Jackson county, Michigan, where he lived and brought up a family. The farm originally belonged to Leo's grandfather James Berry Whittaker, which James' daughter, Leo's mother Katherine (Whittaker) Gillispie either inherited or bought. ^{[2] [3]}

Leo wed Clara Bernice Rhodes on 6 December 1949 in Concord, Jackson county, Michigan. ^[4] They had four children together:

1. Margaret Ann Gillispie, born and died 29 Oct 1950;
2. James Jim Gillispie;
3. Nancy Gillispie;
4. Gary Gillispie.

Leo James Gillispie died of cancer on 21 July 1966 in Concord, Jackson County, Michigan. ^[5] He was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord, Jackson county, Michigan. ^[6]
