Research Notes
There is a discrepancy in the cause and the actual date of his death. According to the Registers of Deaths in the Regular Army, the attending surgeon listed the cause of death as typhoid fever and that the date of death was 6 Oct 1864. Other sources like Find A Grave listed the cause of death as typhoid pneumonia, and that his date of death was 1 Oct 1864. This was what was shown of the on the attending surgeon's report. [4]
