Biography

Eleanor was born about 1847. She was the eldest daughter of James Gillon and Sarah Heron.

She arrived in New Zealand with her parents and three siblings on the Māori in 1852.

She married Charles William Adams on 5 January 1870 in Dunedin, New Zealand.^[1]

They had at least 6 children; Charles Edward, Arthur Henry, Cecil Francis, George Frederick, Eleanor Juliet and Ormsby Gore.

Her husband was a Surveyor, an Astronomer and public servant. He passed away in 1918.

Ellen passed away in 1934 at the age of 86, Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand^[2]
