Biography

William was born about 1770. He was the son of John Gilliam and Elizabeth Dickinson

It is believed by some researchers that William Gillum lived in adjacent Orange County, VA prior to removing to Kentucky. A William Gillium does appear in the 1810 Personal Property Taxes records of Orange County.

James W Gilliam who married Mary S Brame has been attributed to William Gillum and wife Sarah Watson. However, William's Will clearly states his son is James D Gillum. James D married Eleanor Harvey.

He passed away about 1846.
