Benjamin Gillyon was born in 1833 in Beverley, Yorkshire, England.
15 May 1833. St. Mary, Beverley, York - baptism of Benjamin Gillyon, parents Benjamin & Ann [1]
His mother Anne Gillyon died in 1834 at birth of his brother Godfrey and father remarried her sister Elizabeth in 1838, who died at the birth of her daughter Harriet in 1840. His father married for a third time in 1843
