Biography

Edith (Edy) Phoebe Pliney Gilmore was born in 1820 in Moore, North Carolina, her father, William Gilmore, was 30, and her mother, Winifred Lowry was 26.

She married Robert Sweet in 1838 in Putnam, Tennessee. They had eight children in 17 years.

She passed away in 1861 in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of 41.
