Biography

Sallie Gilmore was William Hickey's second wife after the death of Loue Hunt.

Sallie's gravestone says she was born in 1861, but the 1880 census of Pennington, Bradley County, Arkansas, has her age as 22. If that's true, she was born about 1858.

The 1880 census of Pennington, Bradley County, Arkansas has the following records about Sallie's first marriage. Note that a Gilmore family is just below the Kinard family. They could be Sallie's parents, but it's not indicated in the census. However, Samuel Gilmore was born in South Carolina, and Sallie's record shows that her father was born in South Carolina. On the other hand, Sallie's record indicates her mother was also born in South Carolina, but Narcissus Gilmore is shown to have been born in Alabama.
