Iva was born in 1895 in Grey County, Ontario.[1] She is the daughter of Gilbert Gilmour and Emily Smith.[1][2][3] She married Allan Robinson Smith, son of Alpheus Norman Smith and Bertha Louisa Miller, in 1915 in Meaford, Grey, Ontario.[3]
