Biography

Lucinda “Lucy” Gilmour was born on December 11, 1815,^[1] in Christian County, or Lincoln County, Kentucky.^[1] She was the daughter of Robert C Gilmour, and Julia Ann (Wilhoit) Gilmour.

She married David Myers Jr. on May 10, 1833 in Lincoln County, Kentucky.^[2] They were the parents of eight children.

1. ROBERT MYERS, born 15 March 1834 in Lincoln County, Kentucky; he died on 2 September 1856
2. THOMAS MYERS, born 1 August 1835 in Lincoln County, Kentucky; he died on 17 April 1885 in Boyle County, Kentucky.
3. MARY ELIZABETH (MYERS) COOK born 18 February 1841 in Lincoln County, Kentucky; married SIMEON LEWIS COOK on 5 December 1871 in Boyle County, Kentucky; she died on 2 January 1920 in Danville, Boyle County, Kentucky.^[3]
4. GEORGIA ANN MYERS, born 2 February 1843 in Kentucky; married ANTHONY HURON HARLAN on 26 November 1863 in Boyle County, Kentucky; she died on 15 February 1879 in Boyle County, Kentucky.
5. BOYLE MYERS, born 2 December 1845 in Kentucky and died 9 December 1860 in Boyle County, Kentucky.
6. FOUNTAIN DAVID MYERS, born 6 December 1849 in Kentucky; married NANNIE LEWIS CHRISTOPHER on 15 January 1873 in Garrard County, Kentucky; he died on 28 October 1916 in Boyle County, Kentucky.
7. LUCY JANE [MYERS] PHILLIPS, born 28 January 1853 in Boyle County, Kentucky; married WILLIAM B. PHILLIPS in 1892 in Boyle County, Kentucky; she died on 26 May 1930 in Boyle County, Kentucky.
8. JULIA ROBERT MYERS, born 31 August 1856 in Boyle County, Kentucky;^[4] she died on 29 January 1877 in Boyle County, Kentucky.

They made their home in Danville, Boyle County, Kentucky. They were on their farm in 1850, where David was farming and Lucinda was taking care of the home and family, Her brother, Allen Gilman-32, and children, Robert-16, Thomas-14, Elizabeth-9, George A.-6, Boyle-4 and Fountain who was just 6 months old.^[5] In 1880 David was farming and she was taking care of the home and family, their son Thomas-42, Farming, daughter Lucy J.-24, and grand children, Lucy Harlan-14, and Ella Harlan-6.^[6]

Her husband David passed awas in 1881 at the age of 72,

She died on April 12, 1891, at the age of 75, in Boyle County, Kentucky and was buried in the Myers-Cook Cemetery.^[1]
