Biography

Mary was born April 22, 1912, and grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL, and Hyde Park, Chicago, IL. She graduated from Hyde Park HS in 1930 and married Frederick Sealy, whom she divorced a couple years later. They had a son, Frederick Collin Sealy, born September 2, 1930.

On December 1, 1938, Mary married August Carl Hoffmann in Chicago, and moved to Wilmette, IL in 1945. He was then the Director of Photography for Valentino Sarra.

They had a son who died at birth in 1940 (Carl), and a daughter, Nancy Louise, who was born July 7, 1945 in Chicago, IL. Augie officially adopted Fred Sealy around 1938.

In 1973, Mary and Augie retired to Door County, WI. Augie died in August, 1991, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, and Mary died in Evanston in February, 2008.
