Biography

George Gilzean was born 3rd November 1855 at Coupar Angus, the son of Erick Gilzean and Cathrine Forbes. ^[1]

1861: Coupar Angus, Forfarshire (Angus), Scotland. George is a 5-year-old Scholar, born Perthshire, the son of Erick and Cathrine Gilzean. At home on census night were two brothers, William (11) and Alexander (3). ^[2]

1881: Coupar Angus, Forfarshire (Angus), Scotland, George Gilzean lived in Hay Street, aged 25, a Journeyman Joiner, born Perthshire. He lives with his mother and brother, Cathrine (60) and Alexander (23). ^[3]

George passed away 18th June 1939. His death was registered in the Hurstville district, the forenames of his parents indexed as Erick and Catherine.^[4]
