Matthew was baptised on February 10, 1664 in Warbstow, Cornwall, England. He is the son of Matthew and Penelope Gimblett.[1]
The LAST WILL & TESTAMENT of his father, also called Matthew GIMBLETT, was signed July 1, 1696 in Warbstow, Cornwall and witnesses to it were Richard Cowling and James Hobb.
Mathew Sr was buried in Warbstow on March 22, 1697 and probate of his Will was granted May 18, 1698. After bequests to various family members, Matthew Jr receives everything else and is the executor of the will.
Matthew, yeoman, married Grace Spettigue August 24, 1698 in Warbstow.
His Last Will and Testament is dated "1704" so he died 1704-1705.[3]
Several online trees have another daughter supposedly named Jane Gimblett who was baptised on the EXACT DAY as Anne (Agnes) and who married an Edward Treweeks in 1717 in South Petherwin, Cornwall and also died on the EXACT DATE and in the SAME PLACE as Agnes --- needless to say, this is INCORRECT!!
