George Henry John Ginn was born in 1873 and baptised on 29 Jun 1873 at Christ Church, Ware, Hertfordshire, England. He was the son of George Ginn and Mary Jane Charlton.[1][2]
In the 1881 census, George Henry Ginn was age 7 living at High Street, Ware, Hertfordshire with his father George Ginn (45), mother Mary Jane Ginn (37), sisters Elizabeth Jane Ginn (9), Ada Ginn (5).[3]
In the 1891 census, George H J Ginn was age 17 living at Ware, Hertfordshire with his father George Ginn (54), sisters Elizabeth Jane Ginn (19), Ada Ginn (15), brother Henry Ginn (8). Occupation: Gardener.[4]
George Ginn married Rosa Albany on 20 Sep 1900 at St Mary the Virgin, Ware, Hertfordshire.[5] They had six children: Henry George Ginn (1902–1902), Rosa Violet Ginn (b. 1903), George Thomas Ginn (1906–1906), Stanley Frederic Ginn (b. 1908), John Rolleston Ginn (b. 1910), Mary Helena Ginn (b. 1911). Rosa already had a daughter Alice Mary Albany (b. 1894).
In the 1901 census, George Ginn was age 27 living at Ware, Hertfordshire with his wife Rosa Ginn (23), step-daughter Alice Albany (7).[6]
In the 1911 census, George Ginn was age 39 living at Ware, Hertfordshire with his wife Rosa Ginn (34), daughter Violet Ginn (7), sons Frederic Ginn (3), John Ginn (1).[7]
George's wife Rosa Ginn died in 1933.
George H Ginn amrried Helen Hart in 1934 at Ware, Hertfordshire.[8]
In 1939, George Ginn (b. 23 May 1873) was living at The Anchor Inn, Wadesmill, Ware, Hertfordshire with his wife Ellen Ginn (b. 8 Mar 1881). Occupation Publican.[9]
George Ginn died in 1952 age 79 at Ware.[10] Note: His death record is not found on the GRO online index so it has probably been mistranscribed there.
