Biography

Angela was born around 1761 ^[1], the daughter of Leonardo Gioia and Angela Mangiaracina ^[2]. She married Rocco Calia ^[3] and they had at least one surviving child. Angela passed away in 1841 ^[4].

Angela's death record describes her as a 'villica', a peasant farmer of modest status who did not own land.
