Research Notes
Marie Hippolyte Favre was born 1735 in Montrèal, Canada, Nouvelle-France. She was the daughter of Jean Favre dit St Jean and Marie Bastien. However, there are no records found that connects the child of Jean Favre with the wife of Jacques Girard.
Jacques Michel’s brother, Jacques Alexandre Girard, was born 4 May 1723. Jacques Alexandre married Veronique Lefrançois in 1752, but was recorded as Jacques Michel. This error has led to confusion between the brothers.
