Benjamin was born the son of Thomas Girling and Harriet Ridley on 25 Feb 1850.

Benjamin married Eliza Elizabeth Moore in 1871 in Shoreditch, London, England ^[1]

Witness to their marriage was Henry James Smith and Mary Ann Smith (nee Girling)

His occupation was: Portmanteau Maker, Labourer, Vestry Servant.

He died in 1915 in Hackney, London^[2] due to falling off a Tram. Died in hospital
