Donald was born in 1902. He was the son of Alexander Girling and Minnie Wharton. [1]
He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery, Territorial Army.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1
