Biography

Elisabeth was born around 1766 [1][2] possibly while her parents were in exile in the New England colonies, or shortly after their arrival in the Province of Quebec. Elisabeth and her siblings Marguerite and Jean-Baptiste were baptized on 9 August 1767 in Saint-Ours, Québec. [3] Her date of birth was not noted in the register. She is the daughter of Joseph Girouard and Nathalie Leblanc. [4]

She married François Duhamel, son of Pierre Duhamel and Marguerite Dupré on Oct 29, 1787 in St-Ours. [5]

She passed away on 18 March 1826 in Saint-Ours, the record giving her 60 years of age. She was buried on 20 March 1826. [1] [6]
