Biography

Marguerite Girouard was born about 1682 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, daughter of Jacques Girouard (abt. 1648–1703) and Marguerite Gautrot (abt. 1654–1727). [1]

In 1686, at Port Royal, Marguerite, aged 4, was living with her parents, Jacques GIROUARD, aged 38, and Marguerite GOTRO [sic], aged 32, and her eight siblings: Alexandre, aged 16, Pierre, aged 14, Jacques, aged 12, Jean, aged 10, Marie, aged 8, Francois, aged 6, Claude, aged 3, and Guillaume, aged 3 months. They lived on 6 arpents of cultivable land with 13 cattle and 15 sheep.[2]

Marguerite (19) married Louis Doucet (27) (born about 1674 in Port Royal, Acadie; son of Pierre Doucet and Henriette Pelletret) around 1702 in Beaubassin, Acadie. [1]
