Jean Baptiste Richard was born on 10 November 1739. He was the son of Joseph Richard and Anne Girouard. He was baptized in 1740, no date given. His godparents were Jean Bourg and Catherine Cormier.[1][2]
The family was deported to France in 1758. Jean-Baptiste, his parents Joseph and Anne, and three other children died at sea during the crossing. Armand, the youngest child, died at the hospital shortly after arrival. [3]
