Marguerite Giroux was the daughter of Michel Giroux and Marie Thérèse Prévost. When Marie Marguerite Giroux was born on 20 January 1700, in Beauport, Québec, Canada, New France, her father, Michel Girou, was 38 and her mother, Therese Prevost, was 34. She married François Vachon on 14 November 1718, in Beauport, Québec, Canada, New France. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters.
