Marie Thérèse Girou was born and baptized 24 Feb 1734 in the parish of Saint-François-de-Sales, Neuville, Canada, Nouvelle-France. She was the daughter of Ignace Girou and Marie Loüise Savari. Her godparents were Jean Grenier, garçon, and Marie Therese Savari, fille. [1][2]
Pierre Mercure, son of the late François Mercure and Marie Perraut, married Thérèse Giroux, daughter of Ignace Giroux and Thérèse Savarie, on 5 March 1753 in Cap-Santé[3]
Marie Giroux, widow of Pierre Mercure, died on 11 June 1815 and was buried on the 12th in Cap-Santé, the record giving her around 81 years of age.[4]
