Marie Thérèse Girou was born and baptized 24 Feb 1734 in the parish of Saint-François-de-Sales, Neuville, Canada, Nouvelle-France. She was the daughter of Ignace Girou and Marie Loüise Savari. Her godparents were Jean Grenier, garçon, and Marie Therese Savari, fille. [1][2]

Pierre Mercure, son of the late François Mercure and Marie Perraut, married Thérèse Giroux, daughter of Ignace Giroux and Thérèse Savarie, on 5 March 1753 in Cap-Santé[3]

Research Note

Re baptismal record: Mother’s name incorrectly listed as Marie Loüise Savori.

There is an earlier sister of the same name, Marie Therese Giroux, who was born in 1731 and who died in 1733.
